Loren
Rubino

Professional Art Therapist, Mental Health Counselor and Trauma Therapist

Loren is an Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor, who works in MAATC, ATR-P, and LPC-A. She is also an Accelerated Resolution Therapist (ART), a bilateral eye movement technique designed to process and heal trauma.

Loren received a B.F.A. from Emerson College where she majored in Creative Writing with minors in performing arts and dance. She also has a degree in Art Education and was formerly a high school art teacher in Connecticut and Miami, Florida. While in Miami, Loren also taught art programs for The Miami Children’s Museum and The Lincoln Road Art Center.

Loren Rubino received her Masters Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Albertus Magnus College.

While teaching art, Loren realized the inherently therapeutic and safe quality of the art room. As the music played, and her students created everything from pottery to sculpture to paintings, she noticed the deep connections and interactions that took place more naturally than anywhere else.

Loren believes in the power of art as an emotional shorthand for children and adolescents and has seen art therapy help a multitude of both adult and child clients. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. As a dual degree therapist, she also treats many clients who choose not to use art. Loren honors the uniqueness of each individual and uses a client-centered / humanistic approach, incorporating CBT, ACT, ART, and DBT in her approach to treatment.

Loren treats a wide range of issues including:

- Anxiety

- Social Skills Challenges

- Anger Management

- Traumatic Stress

- Depression and Low Mood

- Emotional Regulation

- Relationship Challenges

- Eating Disorders
